Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

What do these ratings mean?

God of War is a game that didnt ketch my atention at first just because Im not a huge huge fan of hackNslash. But Im a huge fan of Prince of Persia. And I thought this game would play about the same so I traded Guitar Hero 2 to a friend for GOD of War 1 and 2. I have been playing GOW 1 for about 2 weeks now and I enjoy the game. I will split this review into two catagories, the good, and the bad, then at the end give my final statements and rate.

GOOD: the graphics are intristing and smooth. Characters look really well, detail in all the right places. Im impressed with some of the things/scenories that they built in this game. The view distance is awesome, " although this game is linear and your set on a path" the game shows huge views in the background that moves and stuff. Like in one map you see a giant version of the GOD of War himself Aries stomping around attacking the city of athens, its cool looking and really adds a "holly *U*#) what am I up against here" kinda feel to it.

The sound is just as good and really does the deed on pulling you into the whole, greek mythology age. Lots of time the music kicks up and makes battle's that would normaly be small feel epic. Very nice.

The gameplay is very basic but gets the job done. Youll be mashing buttons to do combo after combo adding up to the 50's and above. Its fast its fluid and works. They add into the game to break up the constant combat, puzzles. And the puzzles are not mind bending but some are very challenging and intristing. They intrigrated the puzzles into your current situation and is fun. Like in the first mission youll face a bunch of archers up on a ledge on this ship. Well you cant get to them there constantly shooting at you. There is a box to your left and you can move it and it provides good cover from the arrows. So you grab the box and push it infront of you towards the archers who are now unable to hit you. Get the box up to the ledge the archers are on, jump on the box jump up to ledge and unleash some hardcore can of woopass! it just all makes you feel badass. Your weapons will upgrade as you move through the game and the Gods will give you new weapons every once in a while and you also get magic which adds a stragedy to the combat. The did a well job of breaking up the combat so that its not just the same ole hackNslash you come to expect from games like this.

The BAD: the graphics in some spots are glitchy and the game has issues with crashing while loading times. Sometimes during the opening of the title screen it will freeze up completly so that gets really really annoying. It chooses all the bad times to do this too. YOull be right at a save point and BOOm it freeze;s.

The Sound.: No complaints

The gameplay: the game is just to repetitive for my taste. You basically run around swinging your swords wildly. During some battle's your weapons just feel totally useless. You weapons sometimes will stun the enemy and others it wont. Fights mostly consists of you jumping around hitting the square button 100's of times hoping that the guy goes down. Its all fun but just gets old. The magic also has some issues. Everything justs feels underpowered. And sometimes when fighting like two cyclopes they will sychrinises there attacks to where when one hits you you get knocked down and as you stand back up the other hits you and knocks you down and when you get up the first one is swinging again and so on, it just breaks up the game.

OVERALL:

The game is a good game and definitly a buy. By the way the story is awesome and true to the greek mythology book.

Graphics: 8 sometimes the game freeze's

SOund: 9 awesome soundtrack

Gameplay" 5 basic hackNslash gets old unfortunatly

Story: 9 very creative and intristting.

I give this game a 8 out of 10 that adds to a A-
