What do these ratings mean?

Who said the PS2 couldn't do 1080i. Awesome.
I love the GranTurismo series. I like the burnout and project gotham series, but the GranTurismo series has always ruled.
I have not played Forza so I cannot give an objective opinion on which one is better. But I can tell you that GranTurismo 4 is an excellent game.
I played the poop out of GranTurismo3, and now I'm playing the poop out of GT4.
The Controls are the usual racer controls. I usually use my Logitech GranTurismo Wheel I got that came around the time of GT3, and that makes for a totally different experience.
The Graphics are awesome in 1080i. They are excellent in standard resolutions as well.
The Sound is top Notch.
The little touches set the GranTurismo series apart, such as;
The glowing of rotors during heavy braking in the corners. The Tracking of the Rain into the Tunnels on the Rainy courses. The Dirt coming up from the Off Road cars is quite convincing. The Rain soaked coarses at night are simply amazing. The only thing not Realistic is the Lack of Damage modeling, and the Lack of Buttheads on the Road driving like total dufus heads when there is either Snow or Rain on the ground.
Perhaps maybe an old dude with his blinker on for 10 miles straight.
The cars can be tuned to your hearts content.

Consider this, I currently own an XBOX 360 with Project Gotham Racing 3, and I still play GT4 as much as I play PGR3.
Per Usual GT4 has tons of tracks and tons of cars.
The Lack of Online play is a bummer though.
Even with sony dropping the ball on the Online stuff this game is still one of the greatest racing games you can get on any system.
