In a world dominated by violent media, Americans are no more eager to go to war than they were in the 1980s or the 1960s or the 1940s. Hasn't it always been someone else's problem? The overwhelming majority would rather go on thinking it had nothing to do with them and there...

What do these ratings mean?

Mercenaries gives a nice option if you're sick of Grand Theft Auto's repeditive attitude.   It is also a good moral option if you're really into not letting kids play games like GTA.  Since Mercenaries does let people kill Civilians it does punish you for doing so, unlike GTA.  GTA a player will get introuble with the police and may end up in one heck of a pickle.  Mercenaries if you kill a civilian your rating by the Korean, Chinese and UN factions will go down and you also loose 1000 credits per citizen killed by your hands.  This alone made the game somewhat fun because it forced players to think of ways to take out targets when in Civilian populated area's that will inflict minimal damage.  Mercenaries gives players a good reason to not hurt civilians definity during your first run in the game when you're trying to get all the factions on their good side and when you're short on cash.

Gameplay for Mercenaries is extremely easy to get used too. Though sometimes you will find some annoying moments.  Like when trying to hope into a vehicle.  Unlike GTA you have to get within a Circle on the ground next to the vehicle to hope in.  Though despite that downside it also has a plus.  Those circles deside what possition players man on the vehicle when they enter it.  Example is the Korean Jeep ripoff.  Passanger, driver and gunner.  If you jump into the vehicle from the right side you're and idiot since its 100% useless (laughs).   Hopping into the wrong possition on a vehicle is annoying sometimes but after you learn its different than GTA you get used to running to the drivers side before jumping aboard.

While on the topic of Vehicles it can be said its the most fun you can have in Mercenaries.  Well that and calling in endless artillery in the middle of a North Korean base......  They really put some effert into making the take over of a vehicle fun to do and also fun to watch.  Hense why Mercenaries just feels so action like.  The mini action flicks like running down a gun barral.  Ripping a hatch open and throwing grenades into a tank to jumping onto a  chopter and pulling the pilot out while still airborn can get to your funny bone.

The only real downside on Mercenaries is the fact after you finish the game. You can no longer go after the average card holders.  The Missions are replayable but there are no longer any 1-10 card bounties on the game.  In which were some of the most entertaining parts of the game hunting them down and finding them.
