The Good: Wonderful graphics, great sense of humor, nice violent touch, swapping heads is unique and original, good story, combat is simple, fun, and intuitive

The Bad: While the combat is fun it can be too simple, zero sense of directions really makes you run around headless, frequent load times

While DHF's mature content is the first of it's type on any handheld platform this really gave the game some attention. While the graphics are an amazing technical feat for the PSP, and the voice work and crude humor is pleasing the game is hampered with fun yet repetitive battles and no sense of direction what so ever. You'll be wandering around everywhere for sometimes hours trying find out where the hell to go since there a lack of a map or even an arrow. The game is also plagued with frequent load times for every area you enter. Since the areas are so small there's loading every 10 seconds. Those really are the only bad things here. DHF has a really nice fighting system that adds on to the button mashing. The fighting is context sensitive and can mix things up. The original idea here is the head swapping feature. A PI Fred Neuman investigates on the new mayor and the mayor get him killed. A kooky scientist brings you back to life but with a jar for a head. Fred is on a quest to stop Mayor Pitt and maybe try to find his real head. Along the way you find heads that grant you new powers and new ways to solve puzzles. One such head is the shrunken head which lets you into tiny areas, a zombie head which you can fill with air to float across areas, or water to put out fire etc. While this is neat and all the lack of directions makes you so angry you just don't care. I just wish Vicious made this easier. If you can stomach frequent loads and wandering around all the time then you'll love this. It's funny, gory, and downright original.
