Well in the general fact of games like final fantasy and other RPGs I really just care about the storyline not really the graphics or the fmvs for that matter i just like knowing what is going on where to go find the side quests and complete the game. If you don't share the ideas like this then you probably won't like my review of the game.
Well in all honesty if you're looking for a game with a great exiting beggining this one has a good beggining fmv with a fight between the two main charachters Squall and Seifer getting you into the game before you even get started. In the time that you are not a SeeD this game I would consider to be one of the most boring games I've ever played in my life I mean c'mon run around the Balamb area and go nowhere else how lame can you get. There is absolutley nothing to do inside of the garden but fight weak pathetic enemys in the training area.
Now I'm gonna make the rest of this review real, real simple. The changes of the O button to the X button from 7 to 8 was one of the best things I think squaresoft could have done with this game. The reason the game was actually not a total loss is they amped up the game later with more action, a more refined story that actually made sense not you just being a bunch of mercinaries. All the G.F.s in this game also saved it from a otherwise enormous fall the G.F.s just made it a whole lot easier to make your charachters stronger than they ever were in FFVII in the final fight against ultimecia if you don't have a certain amount of health no matter what level you are in one attack she can kill you which makes the game utterly impossible even though i've beaten it.
Though the overall gameplay style, weapon, and junction changes saved this game the boring, unlively no storyline like begginging destroyed it in my eyes bringing it down to a B rather than an A-
