Old School is back and well... pretty much the same.
I've been playing the Metal Slug games for quite some time now and love them in arcades, but something just doesn't click right when these games are put on a collab disc. All the games seem to look good and keep their arcade form but the main problem with this game is the controls, it just doesn't feel right. You get a handfull of control schemes and some of them work ok but others are just horrible (like for instance arcade which has you hold both controllers having the wiimote as the arcade stick and the nunchuk as your fire and jump) this sounds like a really cool idea on paper and I wish it actually worked the way it should but doesn't. Also unless u have a really steady hand the motion control settings are a little too jittery. But if you keep to basic default or use the Gamecube controller it's fine but takes away the whole innovation experience. Overall Metal Slug Anthology is a decent port to consoles, but unless your a big fan of the series or old school side scrolling push the button so much you get carpal tunnel games then go ahead and pick it up you won't regret it, but for gamers new to the series it's worth a rental at least especially if u got a friend to play it with.
