There are only a few games out for the wii, and the last thing the wii needs is a crappy game in its limited opening lineup.

Red Steel is this game.  I'm glad is not a game that had to much hype.

Graphically, the game is gory.  I like gore, and there's nothing like the though of slicing through a bad guys neck, spilling a fountan of red blood six feet into the air.

Enter the Kill Bill knockoff.

Red Steel promotes as being able to use both a sword and a gun in its wonderful maylay of combat conflict. Instead of being a skillful swordsman, you will find yourself sticking to the gun.

The sword just seems to be a step behind when all your foes have fully automatic weapons.

The only part of the game's sword combat that has some gimmer of hope is the boss battles.  When I though of being able to swing a controller, in a true sword battle of wits and skill.... Red steel replaced that with a pattern of the same movments for each boss battle, that requires only minium practice.

Pathetic.

I can see how people threw their controllers at their TV screens. I would be pissed off if I was ripped off like this.

This game promises much and falls painfully short.  Let this one die with some honor, and stay a rental.
