What do these ratings mean?

Alright, took a while for this review to show up. So here is my outtake on BattleField Bad Company.

Bad Company does alot of things good and alot of things bad. I will break them up into two groups. "Good" "Bad" then in the end give a end overall review.

Lets start with story/single player: The single player starts off like a movie with you meeting your group cool camera angle's and pretty graphics all with the great sound of orcastra music in the background. Once you start the actuall gameplay it quickly becomes a point A to point B game. The missions go from 1 lil base/town to another. It doesnt quite feel like there is a actuall war going on. And sometimes your actuall goal is hard to find. The distructable enviroments really dont add much to the single player experience since half the time you will not have to blow anything up to continue. The AI isnt very smart they dont hide they dont duck and cover. They shoot you. And the only diffference int he difficulty levels is that they shoot you more accuratly. But the good about the story is that its simple easy to follow and overall fun. I think the single player is definitly aimed at a younger group of gamers. I would give the single player a C-.

The multiplayer: Online play is pretty fun, this is where the distructable enviroments really come into play. Its truely a great feeling seeing some sniper run into a building and you have your m16 with a grenade launcher on the bottome of it, so what do you do? Ill tell you what you do, you launch a grenade right into the wall of that building blowing it out then rush through the dust and debre and shoot that sniper right in the HEAD! Its fun its simple its a rewarding feeling...at first. The distruction really effects how the game can turn out, allthough I personaly would like to have seen the buildings actually collaps but its all good. Im happy with the distruction. The guns all feel great, although I really really wish you could put some type of different scopes on the guns but all you get are the iron sights that the guns have.

My biggest gripe about this game is the online chat. I really feel like EA made a huge mistake here. The way the chat on this game works is you join the server and are automaticaly put into a squad. Well, the problem is your squad is all you can speak to. sometimes that squad is 4 men but most the time its 3 or worse 2 and noone seems to talk. This ruins absalutly ruins any shape or form of teamwork that you could ever hope that this game would have in it. Its stupid. Im guessing they wanted to do the whole Battlefield 2 thing with the chat but on a consol it just doesnt work. your team will have 10 people on it and you can only talk to 2 of them. I hate it it makes me so mad. Il see a sniper taking out 4 or 7 of my team and I cant tell them where he is.

The game runs very smooth and the sound work during combat is top notch. It is a true war sounding game. Bullets bounch and bang against walls and echo when your inside a building truely a awesome experience.

Also another big problem I have with this game is the online mode. The Gold Rush mode at first is fun and challenging but requires teamwork and as I said before that isnt going to happen. So Gold Rush gets old very very very very quick. By the time I ranked up all the way to 25 I was sick of it. Its very repetitive. Supposedly Conquest mode is suppose to be released in a  lil while but who knows. I havent heard anytting else about it since the game was launched. I only hopw that along with the conquest patch that they fix the team chat because without comunicating with your team it really ruins the whole stragedy part of the game.

So overall its a great game. If your thinking of buying it rent it first just to make sure its your type of game and is what your looking for. Most likely you will like it. There is no blood but The battles are so frantic I dont really think blood is necessery. I think the chat problem is a serious issue on a game with battlefields as big as this. O by the way the vehicles are great all handle well, the hellicopter is a lil tricky and crapy but is effective with a tallented piolet.
