After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

What do these ratings mean?

This, now this is what I call war. By this time I'm sure many of you have answered the call of duty many times. Whether it be the origninal or some of the sequels or spin offs, you all know what a Call of Duty game should be like. This game goes beyond the first few. This game is one fo the most violent Call of Duty games ever(for example during a sniper mission, you shoot a guys arm off, this is about as violent as it gets aside from nonstop blood pouring out everywhere). To start things off, you're no longer a soldier in the big WW2, instead you're an S.A.S. member, and a U.S.M.C. fighting against a group of Russian ultrinationilists who are out to restore the old communist regime to Russia(there leader being an old dude named Imran Zakhaev). Everthing is just about tip top shape in Call of Duty 4, except for some pretty dumb AI. Their strength comes more in their numbers, rather than wits. They however do have a good throwing arm(some of these dudes needed to be in the NFL). They will literally through a grenadewhen they are yards away from you and it will land dead center at your feet(you die more from grenads than the actual gunfire because of this). You do have the ability to take evasive action and through the grenade back, but you have to be fast, as when it lands at your feet, it will soon explode. The guns as the subtitle suggests, are modern(with guns like the M-16, the M4 Carbine with a grenad launcher bulit on, and of course everbodies favorite weapon, C4). Call of Duty 4 can make things explode at you, and it explodes very good, the graphics are top notch(who knew that the 360 could pull this type of graphics off, you salty sea dog, you). The more times you play through the game, the more you notice the little touches here and there. With claymores, C4, grenades,(special or regular) grenade launchers, and snipers, you've got a good assortement of weapons that can really get the job done, and done well. Things like flash grenades are partically useful, as they blind all nearby enemies, this can give you enough time to pull off that head shot, or clear the room. The story of COD4 is as top notch, along with it's graphics, most of the time you are running around Russia, and The Middle East, trying to either dig up evidence on the Four Horsemen, or trying to track one of them down. There are a few timed parts here and there where you have to get somewhere or find a way to abort a missile launch(but you can usually get the job done before you are completely out of time). Yes, this isn't WW2, but this is a good thing, as the COD franchise has just entered a new era, as they have set off a chain of nuclear events that will definetly hold you over until the next COD.
