This game is amazing, but you have to remember, it is not for new Mech gamers. There is a lot of things they expect you to know just coming into the game. So if you haven't played armored core, Mechwarrior(not mechassult, because you don't change your mech in those), or steel batallion you might have a really hard time.

The main story is...well....its a story, its okay but nothing worth jumping for joy about. The main part of the story is to train you for multiplayer so you don't suck with the weapons. Which honestly, really helps with everything; such as, following order, understanding the maps, understanding the range, and knowing what a Hound can do.

The main thing with this game is the Online, which makes this game a MUST buy. If you have xbox live and you like mech style games, you NEED to buy this. I have over 45 hours online already, just doing squad runs and missions, I have yet to get into the free battles. The online is progressive, and you end up fighting for the nation you sign up with. Doing missions with your squad mates, which can be really intense at times. The gameplay is realistic, as realistic as a game about huge mechanical beasts entangled in the ever going dance of war. After awhile it is really easy to get into the game, wanting to work for your nation and help it win the war; for you of those that have played Mechassult 2 online, it is nothing like that. Every battle counts, every battle is worth something, it really gives you a sense of wanting the win.

All in all, the best part of the game is the building a Hound, its like Legos for adults. I have spent hours apon hours just building and changing my hounds. You can put any peice any place you want. It becomes a craze, making one that is the perfect Dog of War. The hardest part of this is trying to be held back, because the more you play with one Hound, the better you get with aiming and moving with it. The game is a breath of fresh air to mech games, to bad the single player is lacking.
