After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Welcome To Willimette Colarado!

Where unfortunatly hell on earth has practically arrived, consealed inside the gigantic mall in the heart of the city.
Here you have just 72 Hours to uncover what could be reporter Frank West's biggest story. There is more at work here than just a zombie outbreak and you will stop at nothing to uncover the truth!

Of course all that won't be easy with deadly shuffling zombies invading every square inch of the mall however you may take advantage of everything! That right shops are you weapons cache, so grab the nearest thing and start busting some zombies head's open! In Dead Rising you have quite a large choice of weapons to use, roughly 200+ items. They range from all your basic weaponry such as Small Knifes, Plant Pots, Benches, Bins you name it, to the more advanced weapons such as Pistols, Sub machine guns, Snipers, Katana's even taking a joy ride with the convertable in the malls car park! You name your weapon and you bet Willimette will have that in stock for you!

As for the main story line as i said before you have a maxium of three days (72hrs) to complete all the main cases of the game however you can't just do all these missions one after the other, oh no. Missions of the main campaign will be open when the in game time reaches a certain point before you can continue finding out more. So what is to be done in the space between these missions? Must you ask? You can do what ever you please, preferably going round mutilating zombies, exploring the mall, stealing clothes, the usual. However if that dries up on you quickly there is side missions in the game too.

Yes during your spare time in this game you will be contacted by a man named Otis in the security room (Which is the safe room and where to take survivors) telling you various locations of survivors throughout the mall. but watch out it isnt always a snatch and grab scenario, something you must kill Physcopaths in order to rescue survivors. The Physcopaths are all over the mall usually 'Chillin' with survivors. These are people who have went mad from the result of the outbreak and obviosuly want to kill you and fellow survivors instead of zombies. Whacko!

The gameplay itself of Dead Rising it pretty good. You character can level up certain stats such as throwing distance, health, speed etc the usual suspects of levels. This is accomplished by building up your level bar to obtain new powers etc and to do this you must kill bad guys, zombies, physco's and complete missions but there is also secret points for doing stuff out of the ordinary such as..well putting a pan on the stove...yea.
The game offers the full enviroment for you to play around it, with great gameplay and well laid out controls it makes it all for the better.

Worth noting that in the game there is alot of multiple ending to the story depending on how may main cases you complete and if you make it back for the helicopter in time to save your self and your fellow survivors. Can you view all endings? As well as this there is also bonus stuff you can unlock too which is all added to the secuirty room, they are usually new clothing such as Wrestling gear etc

Overall, I rate this game an A or 9/10 depending on how you wish to look at it. The story line of the game is great and compelling through out the entire game. Killing zombies in a free enviroment is just so much fun and espically with so many weapons for you to play with. Boss battles offer great set ups and always a pattern to figure out so you know your next move as well as having to know what weapons will work best again the bad guys in the mall. Even if you spend the whole time just killing zombies i can tell you it will still be alot of fun and it is pretty addictive.

Thank you for shopping at Willimette Mall. Have A Nice Day...
