Bloodborne's apparently successful launch (see note below) has yielded two interesting points, for me.  One is that it's being hailed as the PS4's savior (see note below) and the other is that it seems to have serious technical problems.  Conversations erupting around...

What do these ratings mean?

I crossed another island just to get this game actually. It was an all-day-ordeal just for one friggin game. But it was all worth it.

Good side: First of all, the graphics are so much better than Round 3. The faces looks real, the bodies, muscles, blood-sweat-and maybe even tears look awesome. This is the most realistic looking boxing game to date!

Bad side: The environment outside the ring however, isn't really a pretty picture. The fans look like it was copy and pasted out of NBA2K9, and ring entrances, which are usually unique and spectacular are all replaced by simple fire works, some smoke, and fancy lighting. They even took out the hot entourage girls. huhuhu. You'd expect the things around you going ballistic when you land a big punch, but not in FNR4 though.

Overall: If you're willing to look pass the things going on outside the ring and focus on what is going on the ring (Which matters the most) then you're in for a treat. I know *****ing about stuff outside the ring makes no diff, but I expect more next time around. I want people to go ballistic, trainers going nuts, and more people on the canvas when the match is over... now thats simulation right?

Good side: As for the sound, love the sound tracks. Great collection, and best of all, you can make your own entrance music. Tesetor and Atlas once again bring great commentary, and heck, you might even learn a new thing or two, if you listen to them carefully. Not that you shouldn't pay less attention to your match of course. The punches sound painful, with blows, crushes, and a lot more. Great worl with the sound effects. Spot on...

Bad side: Most likely, you'll be playing hundreds of matches, so by the 5th or 6th match you'll start noticing that the commentary gets repetative at times... if not in every match. The fans are not loud enough though. NBA2K9 had greater, louder crowd sound effects than FNR9. I expect the peeps to go nuts when I land a big punch, and during a knock down. But it just falls short for me.

Overall: I love the sound tracks, and the realistic in-ring sound effects. I knock out blows sound so painful, you can actually feel their pain. LOL... but for me, it would have been a bit better if they put more effort on the crowds. Still, consider it *****ing.

Good side: Punches, blocks, bob and weeve, movement.. all of them are spot on. Be careful though. You might be so into the game, you could break your own joy pad. Yup, I can hear analogs clicking left and right as players try to out-time and out-fight each other. It's all about the timing for me, and it's on the mark. Tight ass controls means more human effort than AI. So if you win... its really because of you, and almost nothing to do with the game itself.

Bad side: The AI becomes predictive as you get get dosens of matches under you belt. They also offer a carreer mode which is really TOO basic and not worth bothering if you're into fighting with another human. Also they have taken out the ability to taunt. Come on, why take it away? I love taunting in a match, and its all part of the damn game!

Overall: This game is easy for beginners to pick up, but takes a long-yet-rewarding-time to master. Matches after matches you'll still be asking for more. But this game is really meant for On-Line or two player human mode rather than fighting with the AI. Its when you knock down a buddy of yours, that makes it feel so good.

Overall-Overall: To round things up, this is the best boxing simulation to date. Sure its got some issues, but all of those minor issues are just from me *****ing. If you like boxing, either hardcore or casual, this is a the game for you. You would be considered a loser if you don't have this on your shelf boxing fans. Its a lot of fun playing it, and even more fun when you're playing it on-line or with a friend. Do yoursself a favor and get this game now... you owe it to yourself to have it. And lets get readyyyyyyyy tooooooo rumblllllllllle!!!!!

Peace
