Say Hello To My Little Friend!!!

Its is very rare that a game like this comes along, and when it does, you'd better hold onto it, Gears Of War is one of those games.

You take on the role of Marcus Fenix, a man who has been sharpend by war,but was thrown in prision falsly for something. You take your fist look threw Mr. Fenix eyes from his cell, now without power, and not exactly the cleanest of places, but your good buddy Dm comes to save you from, well...Hm, If he'd left you in there you'd be safer i guess, but oh well, Dom pulls you out anyway, its his way, No highway option. The story-line is fairly simple, or so it first seems, you just have to stop a bunch of evil invaders known as the Locust, the Locust fight the war for their own very special reasons, but honestly you don't care do yah?Any way, you are to stop the invasion of an almost endless race of creatures, and your adenture, or quest rather, will take you though many exotic-no,Destroyed places. So you better bring a snack, a drink, a bottle to take care of well, figure it out,and if you have a wife/girlfriend, or relative you care for deeply, you should call them and tell them you love them, you won't be seeing them for a while.

Controls are tight and very intuitive, may take a little getting used to but don't worry, the game will hold your hands the first time around, and even the second and third if you so choose. The combat system is the greatest thing to be put into a game, ever. You'll quickly find yourself in a huge firefight with your ugly foes, but since they don't have good looks they have o depend pon thier brains and brawn to win the fight, and if you let them, they will flank you and very easily kill you.You can duck behind cover and wait for the perfect shot on your opponent, or just go Scarface and stand out in the open until you'v taken so many bullets you can see your own spleen, or what you will have to assume is your splien through all of the bullet holes. So in the end cover is you best friend. Jumping from one form of cover to the other will more than likely become your strategy, jumping from one side to the other, in search of that perfect shot that will make sure that Locust SOB won't be going home to his kids.

If Firepower is your thing then you've come to the right place, all of your favorites are here, pistols, shotguns, rocket lauchers, burst-fire weapons, grenades, all used to rend your foe asunder. But the best two ideas come together in this game, for the first time ever, and Idea so spectacular, I wonder why we didn't use them in WWII. Chainsaw bayonets, thats right, with your lancer machinegun comes the best close-quarters weapon ever made,The only weapon to use if you prefer style of death over just ending thier meaningless lives with bullets.Once youve started playing its hard to resit the temptation tosay: "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND" as you tear a unfortunate Locust Limb from Limb with a chainsaw bayonet.

Graphics in GoW really show off what the 360 can do, even on regular t.v. (not HDTV) your eyes will dancee with delight once you've seen not only the FMV looks, but the gameplay itself.

This game is very gorey and if it had had stronger language, it would have probably goten a AO rateing rather that the M rating it has, needless to say, this is not a game for the kiddies.

Adding all of these elements together you got the perfect game, not even counting onlineplay, gears of War definitly earned its A+ Rating.
