The Guitar Hero series is quickly becoming one of the most popular series ever made. Its not hard to see why either. Great online, single player and overall is just a really fun game to play. This time around nothing much has changed, great song and modes which equals a great experience.

Now there really isnt a REAL story here. I guess the only thing you can say is that you play as a guitarist working from gig to gig. It may sound reasonable to give this section of the game a lower score but however I found the "story" used here works well for what its trying to do. Its one of those games that doesnt really need a story because it doesnt suit its style. This would be one of those. However since there is somewhat of one I will mark it 4 out of 5 for how well its put together and how it works.

This time around you get a little more selection for songs. From the old(Alman Brothers) to the new( Iron Maiden) and really anything in between(Rage Against The Machine) all songs work very well. I found all the songs sound great even if sometimes the singer wouldnt get the exact notes in the song. However thats not a big turn off because the guitar and the rest of the instruments sound VERY real. Speaking of guitar, the cool wammy bar effects work great with the songs and add a cool techno like vibe when used. They do also have some of the bands to come in and record the songs over again for the game. This shows how much effort and work went into the game and it really shows. Audio very this game is excellent.

I wouldnt say the graphics for Guitar Hero 2 are awfull but I find that its not taking full control of what the 360 can do. The graphics look more like a regular x-box game but they do work for what its trying to do. You will spend more time looking at the faceboard of the guitar rather than whats going on in the background. They do have some cool background effects like fire and fireworks and even lightshows but it wouldve been cool to see them a little more flashy and updated. The character design is so-so. They spend more time focusing on your player rather than the rest of your band. Its not to much of a negatove but it wouldve been cool to choose who you play with. Overall though the graphics arent overally disappointing.

Guitar Hero 2 is probably the most fun Ive had in a game for awhile. This is a very easy game to pick up and start playing. It might take you awhile to get good but with enough practice you should be able to get good. Like the previous Guitar Hero, you strum the "string" and hit one of the possible 5 notes on your guitar. This for the mostpart works well execpt sometimes you swear that you DID hit the note but the game counts it as a missed one. You will find this happens ALOT when your playing virtualy any song on Expert. Overall though this game is really fun to play and its hard not to like it.

Online for Guitar Hero 2 is great. You can either play online battle mode or you could just jam together through a song and see who made the most notes. Another cool option(though not online) is when you hook up another guitar on the same console. You can play co-op where one player plays bass(wooo) and the other on lead. This works very well also. Even though online for GH2 is fun, it wouldve been nice to see additional modes like maybe a tournament mode or even 2 on 2 matches. Although it wouldve been nice to see, it shouldnt bring down your online experience. Very well done.
A solid B. This game is great and you will find yourself playing this for hours straight. Allthough the graphics might not be the flashiest or there are a few modes missing, this game is still very good and should be picked up by anyone who is looking for a great time. This game is definitly recommended so have fun.
