Project Gotham Racing 3 is one of those games that lets you play it how you want to. Whether you're looking for races, drift based point challenges, time trials, or making you're own race tracks, PGR3 has it all. The modes are numerous and fun, rather like the assortment of cars available to drive in the game. Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Ford's, they're all here. There are even Achievements for owning certain cars, like the Ferrari Owner's Club Achievement, which you recieve for owning all the Ferraris in the game.

There's literally tons of stuff to do in PGR3. Of course there's the standard career mode, in which you work you're way through a series of events in order to eran trophies, Kudos (Which increases you're rank), and credits (Which are the game's currency and let you buy new cars). A good feature of the career mode is that like in previous PGR titles, you choose the difficulty of each event before you start it. This means that the learning curve of the game is as steep as you want it to be. Of course, the higher the difficulty, the more rewards you get get, but it's nice to be given this level of choice in a game.
Besides the career, there are modes like Playtime, which is essentially a single event mode where you choose the course, you're car and all the setings, the Route Creator mode in which you can make you're own tracks through the game's five cities (Each of which, I might add, is a perfect recreation of the real thing), and of course Multiplayer. A nice touch is the ability to walk around you're garages and take photo's of you're cars. You can even adjust effects like exposure time, colour, contrast, and focus. Even better, this photo mode applies to the replays of each race. So if you perform a particularly large jump in a race, when you watch the replay you can pause and take a photo at just the right angle to add the effect that you're a gravity defying speed demon. Which I am, by the way.

And then there's a whole host of Xbox Live content, but I won't go into that as I don't actually have Live. Poor me.

Visually, the game is beautiful. Every car is extremely detailed, reflections are all convincing, and surface textures are great. Motion blur kicks in when you're going fast enough, and the game animates wonderfully, hardly ever skipping a beat. The only problem with the graphics would be a few small anti-aliasing issues, but apart from that, PGR3 looks a treat.

Overall, Project Gotham Racing 3 is a very enjoyable game. With loads of content, beautiful graphics and fun gameplay, I would recommend PGR3 to anyone who likes racing games.
