I don’t even care all that much for the Lords of the Rings brand, which makes the content falling under Shadow of Mordor’s Season Pass a pleasant surprise.

RIP Ralph Baer (1922-2014) I really, really hate writing obits. I really do. But I take it as a personal honor to be able to say good things about the men and women I respect, whether in this industry or just in my life, and Ralph Baer is the reason all of this exists in the first...

What do these ratings mean?

Everyone has there own views and opinions on a game and what they like about it and dislike granted i don't really agree with gamerevolutions review on this game thats their choice but where i think prototype falls when it comes to one of the decent adventure games in a long time this ranks right up there with inFamous in my opinion you chose what you want to do the consuming of people and learning about what has happened to you is a very nice touch you can miss so much of the story about yourself if you dont find these people but where i think people lose interest is they just want to beat the game asap not do anything else or explore just wondering what they can conquer next and complain about how the game was terrible made no sense or they like a simple controller where they can do a back flip aerial splash with a 180 twist into a pile driver just by pushing the A button. if you like that simple go back to original nintendo but im not saying make it over complex either on the controls. The controls for prototype are pretty straight forward but you do from time to time have to stop and go back into upgrades to remember how to do stuff but its pretty simple since most are just button mashers anyways at least in this game you get some ooooo's and aaaaaa's out of making a mistake on the buttons the running up of walls is really cool on how he moves over things with ease the only time i have noticed an issue with this is if the building you are running up has a lot of ledges and your character tends to go a little out of control but nothing not managable.

The game play is solid the graphics are amazing whether you have a HD tv with the HDMI cables or just the standard AV cables its something to drool over as long as you have a towel or bucket under your mouth. Its a great game for the fact you can roam freely do whatever you want and the city responses to what is happening if you go into an infected area. (for those how have not played the game i wont spoil anything) people are panicing running crazy and the cars are doing exactly what you would probably see in real life flee lose control crash into other cars a big o mess that would remind you of the days of twisted metal carniage. When honestly was the last time besides Assassin's Creed did the people in a larger area respond to what you were doing? GTA series has had people respond but its maybe 4 to 8 people max but thats if you shot someone. in prototype you land in front of a car from a tall building send out a shockwave everyone looks and flees along with the cars you are standing in front of they go in reverse and try to get away. Thats Amazing is what it is. The thrill will never disappear either when your running full speed down the street between traffic having a helicopter chasing you down flipping over a car while grabbing it running up the side of a near by building jumping towards the helicopter and lobbing the car to take it down.

the soundtrack is not something overly desirable to listen to i will normally listen to my music while i am playing and whenever it comes to a talking scene i turn up the tv and listen then return to destruction and chaos with my music and on the streets of nyc. The camera is well done too in most spots the targetting system can get a little motion sicky from time to time and not target the one you want closest to you and thats a simple fix release the left trigger and pull it down again to get the closest target in the direction your facing.

All and all the total wrap up for this game and the reason why i gave it the A it deserves. Good story line if you take the time to really learn about it. Massive powers and abilities Kratos would be jealous. Smooth controls, and you cant help but laugh whenever you stand in the middle of time square with a bunch of cars around you and people send out a shockwave and send everything flying same as jumping off a very tall building and either landing on the road doing the same shockwave or landing on the roof of a car and flatening it. It has a lot of reply value to it and good for an adventure title at least worth a rent and try
