E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

What do these ratings mean?

Ok, I'm a huge huge fan of RSV. So Im going to split this review into two groups, the good and the bad.

First lets start with the BAD

The fact is this game should be a expansion pack or patch. To me there just wasn't much new, and this was a huge huge letdown. I expected alot more guns, the guns are all the same except the 3 new ones that really are not impressive. The rest of the guns were recycled from the first game.

Another bad thing is the ranking system, I do not like the new system, it is easy to "shortcut" and have all the guns, when you rank up you really dont feel like you acheived anything since the tech you get when you do rank up feels like "last years outfit" because it was recycled from first game. The armor to me insulted me. All they did was recycle the armor from the first one. There is no new armor and that was something I loved doing was pimpen out my char. That was taken from me. And to add to the insult what the creators did instead of adding was they tried what the developers of GTA 4 did and "took away content" by that Im refering back to the armor, they took out a whole lot of the armors you found in the original RSV. Now to support them they took out those armors that where only pads which I agree there shouldnt be 10 different versions of the same lil elbow pad, BUT they could have used the extra disc space to add-in new guns or betteryet new armor.

Most of the maps are pretty good, but the game feels a lil "blank" Personaly I think they should at somepoint included LVU or Donte's. Those maps made RSV what it was. THe new maps seem to always have to many openings. Your always getting surrounded or shot from a blind shot. Its kinda cheap.

My last major compaint is the AI. This time around the AI is suppose to me smarter, quicker, bloody devilish if you might say, but here is the truth, all they did is make there reaction time extremly fast and unrealistic. To back this up Ill point out the 3 major flaws in the enemy AI. First off, you will get shot 1 shot kill alot, and most of the time the terrorists isnt even looking at you. Nor pointing there gun at you. Second, they seem to spawn in right behind you alot of the time, and the third is well, the terrorists seem to just have way to damn good of a shot.

The GOOD

Graphics didnt leap to far forward this time around, but they are better. The lights and action looks a whole lot better this time around.

The maps are still good, lacking in some area's but they are fun in almost all modes of play. CQB Training course is a fun fun map to terrorists hunt in. And of course streets came back thank god, and it is just as fun as always.

The charactors in a way are better looking/worse looking, they brightened up the colors a lil to much making armors look dull and face's to bright. You can add facial hair to your char but you cant really see it on his face.

Gameplay is still amazingly fun. Nothing revolutionary like the first but still fun.

OVERALL.

I gotta give this one inbetween a C and B, I just felt let down, almost as if the developers had no intentions of creating a sequal but at the last minute said " hey lets throw some stuff together from RSV and add two guns and a few maps and call it a sequal." Its not a bad game. But if you havnt played it and are debaiting on buying it, definitly go rent it, even if you played the first one or are a first time Vegas adventureing I recomend renting first. If at all buy the first RSV its cheaper and is the exact same game with to "me" better maps.

Also to mention there were ways of cheating the rank system to Elite status that many many people did.
