What do these ratings mean?

This is a very difficult game to review. On one hand you have an amazing single player story mode and the return of the great coop, but on the other hand you have one of the most annoying, almost  unplayable multiplayer games ever to grace the 360.

Lets start with the good...

The single player story is just as fun as the first one. You go through maze like levels pushing forward in order to complete your objectives. It is nothing you have never before. RSV2 uses the great RSV cover system, so some of the firefights can get pretty intense. The enemy AI is hard, they create tactics and flank you if you wait too long. It can get pretty tough( a scene in a rock climbing gym took a while, many swears were had.) You send your allies to do assorted things, but sometimes they seem to get in your way. There is a sprint button that was added, which allows you to run to cover much faster than in RSV.Terrorist hunt is back and better than ever. Terrorist hunt throws you into one of the multiplayer levels in order to hunt a specific number of AI enemies. You can play this in splitscreen, or with three people online. The new ACES system allows you to rank up not only in multiplayer, but also in story mode and terrorist hunt. There are more options to change what your character looks like, and you can customize your classes, online and off.

...and with the good, there is the bad....

The story mode is killed by random frame rate chugs. One fight may be perfectly smooth, but the next may feel like you are lagging, and this is not even online. The graphics are very boring, COD4 has set a new standard for FPS graphics, and RSV2 cant come close. They are only slightly tweaked from the first one.You may notice that the online is not in the good section and here is why. First of all your bullets never seem to make contact. Someone could run infront of you, and then you shoot directly at them. Nothing happens. It is like your bullets choose when and when not to hit. Other players can get the cheapest kills on you because your bullets make no contact! Another gripe I have with online is the matchmaking. You cannot have a party(however this time around you are able to invite friends). I mean what the hell is the point of playing a multiplayer game is it is so difficult to play with your friends. Are they worried that you are going to cheat for achievement points? Well who the hell cares, its just a number by your gamertag. But the worst part of the multiplayer is far from match making or contact issue, its just the fact that this has the absolute worst spawn issues ever. Ok, so you are in a tiny level, you all spawn in the same place so the enemy team just stands at the only exits and camps. Some levels only have like 2 ways to get out of your spawn point, so the enemy team just waits there for you. I hate it, they should at least have some sort of random spawn system that puts you somewhere else, but no it puts right next to the other team that have been waiting there the entire game. It is the most annoying game ever. Do not buy it in hopes of replacing COD4, I made the same mistake. I thought the multiplayer would be awesome, but instead it fails on all fronts. Only get this if you like playing coop games.
