STRANGLEHOLD.. (hold on tight your in for a long ride, well actually 3 hours.)

So the release of stranglehold will be a mixed bag me thinks, i started the game waiting for what i was expecting a great game, now don't get me wrong it's not game, it has it's flaws slightly on the short side perhaps but it is fun, most games that involve heavy shooting and not alot else do become very repetitive and tiring but somehow this one didn't suffer that problem.

So i blasted my way level through level facing the same pale faced clones making mince meat of them in my own kick ass way, to be brutally honest this game should of  been renamed *bulletproof* like the mediocre film with chow yun fat and stifler from american pie.

I'm not saying this game is bad, but it suffered from the worst disease a game could get, and that disease my friends is hype, from day one this game was set out to be the groundbreaking title that would set the standard for future shoot em' up's and in a way it did, but on the downfall it ended up being max payne :3 In japan.

So overall this game is ok not one to get too excited over, watch it hit pre-owned buckets near you next week probably.

THE VERDICT!!!

GRAPHICS: (B) Decent enough with all the explosions and bullets flying everywhere it doesn't look too shabby but the lack of player models and similar textures make it look a bit plain at times.

GAMEPLAY: (B+) This is the important part of any game and in all respect this game is a blast to play it has everything john woo is known for but after you have finisbhed it leaves you with a bitter taste of prawn crackers in your mouth as you may not want to fight the tedious boss battles again.

SOUND: (C) Has everything you would expect guns fire, gun fire, and more gun fire, and that's about it, as for the characters they have very mixed accents seems odd at points.

REPLAY VALUE: (C-) It may be fun to play through the second time after a week of leaving it alone but it doesn't give you anything to make it fun the second time round, i was hoping for a different character a different ending perhaps?

OVERALL: (B-) Good game let down by hype could of been longer and more revolutionary seems john woo is aging as much as his idea in games for it feels like he forgot how the game ended and ended it too soon.

(REVIEWED BY KRAIG) (for it's not a safe world without a gun!)
