Kojima Productions Now Led By Former Konami President

For several years Shinji Hirano was the person in charge of Konami. Serving as president, he oversaw the business during its most trying times, including the period where it had a controversial fallout with Hideo Kojima during Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's development. Although this would make you think that he wants nothing to do with Kojima's work, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

As listed on LinkedIn, Shinji Hirano is now president at Kojima Productions. The hiring was done more than a month ago and without any public announcement. He described the position as the following:

Responsible for managing extremely talented creative teams as one single entity and providing the leadership to make company successful as one of the greatest creative studios in the world.

Kojima Productions is currently working on Death Stranding, an open-world action game led by Hideo Kojima. You can learn more about this game in our recent write-up here.
