18 GB GTA V PC Torrent Actually Installs Malware And Surveys

Eager gamers looking to play Grand Theft Auto V on their PCs decided piracy was the best policy and downloaded a torrent that in fact flooded PCs with 18 GB of malicious software. When launched the installer actually loads up malware and leads users through a series of surveys and promotional deals. That's a lot of free iPods.
The torrent was mistakenly verified as real and soon thousands of individuals had download the files. Grand Theft Identity has ensued and... well, you know the people who downloaded this thing have probably bought into hundreds of other scams by now.
It's a shame that Rockstar Games couldn't launch Grand Theft Auto V properly on PC alongside Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but I think it speaks to how readily their games have been stolen in the past. I can imagine that's exactly why Red Dead Redemption still hasn't roamed over to PC.
Are you dying to play GTA V on PC? Sound off in the comments and tell Rockstar that you would have bought it at launch if you could have. Then wait patiently to buy the game when Rockstar does port it and don't download shady stuff.
