2K Announces BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition, Coming Later This Month

Posted on Friday, January 4 @ 07:24:09 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
2K Games has officially unveiled BioShock: Ultimate Rapture Edition, which bundles together the first two BioShock games and all of the wonderful add-on content that goes along with them.

While many would recommend that you pass on BioShock 2, the Minerva's Den DLC that goes along with it is reason enough to give the slightly underwhelming sequel a look. The compilation itself will release in North America on January 14th for $29.99 and include the following extras:
  • Museum of Orphaned Concepts
  • Plasmids Pack
  • Challenge Rooms Pack: Previously exclusive to PS3 and now available for Xbox 360 for the first time
  • Sinclair Solutions Tester
  • Rapture Metro
  • The Protector Trials
  • Minerva’s Den
  • An exclusive collectible sticker pack from BioShock Infinite’s world of Columbia to get gamers ready for the next chapter in the BioShock universe
The game will be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Let us know whether or not you plan on picking up this value pack in the comments below.

I already own Bioshock and Bioshock 2 collectors edition, so no. I also have the challenge room dlc for the first one. If I didn't own them, this would a decent deal.

Anyone who says pass on Bioshock 2 is to be ignored, it's a great game. Not as good as 1, but that's hardly a reason to skip it.

I agree, I really loved Bioshock 2. I went in to it figuring it wouldn't compare to the first one, so I wasn't let down, in fact I was really suprised how much I liked it. It had it's own charm about it.

I'm ashamed to admit that I still haven't played it yet. Guess I'll need to give it a go.

It's an elegant biting of the thumb towards Bioshock's determinism. That alone is worth the price of admission.

I know how you feel. $30 isn't so bad. Hell, I still gotta pick up the God of War saga.

If I'm not mistaken bioshock 2 should still be available for free if you're a playstation plus member..... Then again, if you're a member you probably already knew that.
