Developers have traditionally aimed for the milestone of one-million copies sold, but that has quickly become a thing of the past with today's increasing sophistication of graphical technologies.
Despite Crytek's lukewarm response to Crysis' sales, Crysis 3 is on the horizon and a Crysis 4 has already been confirmed. Maybe once they force their way into popularity they can achieve the significant numbers that Call of Duty and Battlefield do.
