Ubi Denies Reports That Michel Ancel Is Parting Ways With The Publisher

The Rayman Legends debacle has caused quite a stir over at Ubisoft, resulting in a rumor that Michel Ancel, the man behind franchises like Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil, plans to leave the company.

One alleged source told GameKult that "Michel Ancel wants to calmly detach himself from Ubisoft, taking with him a few others."

However, Ubisoft has since responded to the report, saying that the rumors are completely unfounded. "Michel is currently working on Rayman Legends, a unique game that will be released on Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3. Michel Ancel and Ubisoft therefore categorically deny these rumours," company spokesperson Pascal Lecointe said.

You may recall not too long ago, that Ancel and his development team protested the delay of Rayman Legends, making it clear that he isn't quite as happy with the company has he once was. Right now, all I'm concerned about is Beyond Good & Evil 2. Please Mr. Ancel, stick with Ubi long enough to see that project through to completion!
