Wii Owner’s Better Hold On to Their Peripherals

Obviously the Nintendo Wii is on its way out. Remember the Game Boy Advance? Third pillar my ass! The Game Boy is dead. DEAD!

The Wii will be joining the GBA in its family grave plot soon, but Nintendo doesn't want you to throw out recycle all that plastic you've gathered by the white box. They recently spoke with interviewers about the future of the little waggle-receiving machine:

There are great new pieces of software launching this year such as Wii Play: Motion in June and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword later on in 2011. Plus, there are plenty more surprises in store fro 2012 from us - Wii has got a great future ahead of it.

That's Marketing Manager Rob Lowe on "Wait-wait-" patrol:

We just wanted to make sure that the appeal of Wii is as broad as possible, and the new Mario Kart bundle is designed to be a great value proposition to anyone who is interested in getting a Wii. With this specific campaign, we are targeting families with young kids looking to buy their first games console. This is a very large potential audience, and the new Mario Kart bundle will be the perfect proposition for them.

No. Just no. If they're part of that blue ocean you've been selling to Nintendo, then they already have a Wii. You need to bundle some hardcore games with your system. Start selling the f*** out of that backlog, Nintendo. It's there and gamers need to know about all the awesome games they can play in non-HD. Maybe package the system with some composite COMPONENT [thanks wildmario] cables?

Also, Japanese Bjork anyone?
