Activision Announces Goldeneye 007: Reloaded

Posted on Wednesday, July 20 @ 13:08:04 Eastern by

Activision has confirmed the existence of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for Xbox 360 and PS3 with a brand new engine and compatibility with the PlayStation Move and Sharp Shooter peripheral. David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing, seems to be a tad over-excited about this:

And now with full PlayStation Move functionality, 007 fans all around the world can play the game in full HD in more ways than ever before.

Reloaded promises to run at 60 fps and include Mi6 Ops Missions, "new, distinct levels separate from the campaign that span the varied environments from the story and challenge players to complete different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives". Multiplayer will have four-player split-screen action with 16-player online matches. Reloaded will arrive in stores this fall.

    But in HD!

....Yeah, I know their move is pretty much a dick one but hey, nowadays, if Nintendo can get away with remaking games time and time again, then other companies can get away with remaking the same games with an HD face lift.

In my mind, Nintendo's been doing this for so long, I'm surprised it's taken other publishers to get around to this.

Goldeneye was successful because it combined multiplayer gameplay with an above average first person shooter. But that was back in the 90's - we have games 20x better now.
