Alleged Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Concept Art Surfaces

Posted on Wednesday, June 27 @ 10:48:12 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

If you've been patiently waiting for Valve to reveal information on the next installment in the Half-Life series, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait a bit longer. Fortunately, we have the next best thing: a slew of alleged concept images (thanks to ValveTime) of Half-Life 2: Episode 3, which are believed to date back to 2008. While the developer hasn't confirmed the validity of the art, it looks legit, and hey, at this point, I think Half-Life fans will take whatever news they can get.

Note: If you haven't played through all of the Half-Life 2 content, proceed with caution as some of the art may contain SPOILERS.

The images showcase new environments, including a snowy landscape (see below) and a slightly more trippy locale with floating platforms (see above). Oh yeah, and Alyx has gotten a slight makeover.

To see all of the images, you can check out ValveTime's Facebook page.

Not going to believe it. Sounds like the work of an artistic troll.

    Argh, floating platforms?
That was the most annoying part of the original Half-Life! Would have been a better game if they cut the stuff in the alien dimension much shorter, with no use of that stupid long jump module.

I had way more fun outsmarting the marines. They were smarter than any FPS enemies that came before, and still smarter than most today.
