Amazon Listing Hints At Possible Name Change For FF Versus XIII

Square Enix announced FInal Fantasy Versus XIII a very, very long time ago, but I'm sure you don't need me to remind you of that. We've been waiting patiently ever since E3 2006, and still, we have no idea when (or if) this game will ever see the light of day.

Interestingly enough, Amazon Japan has changed the title of the game to indicate that "Versus XIII" is merely a tentative name. Could the online retailer know something about a name change that the publisher has yet to officially unveil? Don't forget that Final Fantasy Agito XIII was later changed to Final Fantasy Type-0, so it sure is possible. 


 
As a fan of Tetsuya Nomura's work on the Kingdom Hearts series, I've been waiting eagerly for this game for quite some time, and I'm sure many of you are in the same boat. With rumors currently suggesting that the PlayStation 4 will be here in a year's time, do you think we'll see this game launch before the arrival of next-gen hardware?

Also—and more imporantly—if Square is changing the name of the game, what do you think the new title should be? Share you thoughts in the comments below.

    have been waiting for FFXIII versus...for so long, and everytime i finally forgot about it , something like this comes along. now don't get your hopes up , don't get your hopes up, don't want to be hurt again by square enix

    Removing the XIII would only help sales... if they ever finish the damn thing.

    At this point I always kind of figured Versus would turn into FFXV, since it was part of the "fabula nova crystallis" or whatever, was originally 3 games, hell now XIII alone is going to be 3 games.

    XIII-2 for me was one of the best stories they've ever delivered, although I wouldn't mind seeing how it "ends" I think we all know how most of the game will go story wise.

    Still, i'm really excited to check out both Lightening Returns and A Realm Reborn, I think until we see how those do we don't need even more announced FF titles to wait on. Still waiting on FFX HD. ; ;
