Amazon Possibly Outs Zelda and Mario Kart for Wii U

Posted on Tuesday, October 2 @ 10:05:19 Eastern by

I'm not one to hold much value in a retailer listing, but this is Amazon France. Amazon France is that guy who spoils everyone's surprise party, and lets it slip that you are having an affair or cheating on your taxes. And from my experience, they're usually right on the money.

There's also a lot of what I like to call 'no shit factor' here. As in 'no shit' Nintendo is going to make a Mario Kart for Wii U, and 'no shit' they're going to make a Zelda game for the Wii U.

Ah, see! I just pulled an Amazon France and spoiled the surprise for you.

These games are likely a ways off, but I'd gather that they're in production at this point, with Mario Kart U hitting first around June, then Zelda around holiday 2013. Sound accurate enough? I'll check back in a few months to see if my Magic 8-Ball was right.

The last console Zelda game was out in November 2011. The gap between console Zelda games is usually much longer than two years, so I have pretty strong doubts about that one. As for Mario Kart, I don't follow that series at all, so I have no idea about that.

I'm pretty sure there has been one Mario Kart per Nintendo console, starting with the SNES.

That 100% sounds accurate. I think they've got the Wii U on the 3DS plan. They won't let two years go by without these key franchises. Let's see some new stuff though Ninty!

I'd say we see Mario Kart U summer of next year like you said, but instead of Zelda next holiday, we'll probably see the next big 3D Mario game. A new Zelda is more likely to launch 2014, or even 2015.
