Amazon Video Isn't Just For The PS3 Anymore

Posted on Tuesday, May 29 @ 10:40:39 Eastern by Keri_Honea

"Doctor Jones, again we see there is nothing you can possess which I cannot take away."

That is how I imagine Xbox 360 making their official announcement that they too offer Amazon's Instant Video service. Sorry, PlayStation 3...you no longer have that golden exclusive.

So hey, rejoice Xbox 360 fans who don't have a PS3! You can now stream thousands of movies and TV shows through Amazon (some for free if you're a Prime member) without that pesky monthly fee. It's available now, so crank it on and install when you can.

And in case you are wondering, it is Kinect-compatible. Have fun shouting at your TV instead of pressing a button, if that sort of thing tingles your gibblets.

I have no idea what this service is. Is it like Netflix with a per video price instead of monthly fee?

I signed up for a free month of Prime and was able to try out the Amazon streaming. Netflix has far more content, but with Amazon, you can rent new movies for a few dollars. The free stuff with Prime is more or less the same stuff that Netflix has. I wasn't impressed enough to start paying for Prime, though the cheap shipping was nice.

It's a great alternative to cable. Just pay for the shows you watch.

Yet another venue to get pissed about how much early LOST ruled and late LOST was a heinous pile of poop.
