Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Analyst Claims Reduced Wii U Production Due to Fire, Nintendo Denies

Posted on Wednesday, October 10 @ 07:34:00 Eastern by

While the Wii U will easily be one of the holiday season's hottest items, just this week the Wii U was the hottest it'll probably ever be—because a Wii U production facility caught fire. The result could be a reduced number of Wii U consoles available at launch, claims analyst David Gibson.

Gibson tweeted that Nintendo downgraded Wii U estimates by as much as 1 million Wii U units, down to 7.3 million estimated, due to the fire at the console assembler.

Nintendo, however, has told CVG in a statement that they forsee "no impacts" to their Wii U production pipeline.

Either way, the news of a fire at the facility, and an already limited supply of Wii U consoles available at launch, should drive up eBay prices even higher than already reported.

The Wii U will launch on November 18th in North America, November 30th in Europe, followed by a December 8th launch in Japan. With only 7.3 million Wii U consoles estimated, Nintendo is going to have a difficult time supplying all three regions with enough consoles to meet the demand of the holiday season. If you haven't pre-ordered a Wii U by now, you may be out of luck until 2013.

I am betting on someone will violently rob someone of their Wii-U on launch day.

At least one robbery is a good bet. I really wish Amazon would get back together with Nintendo.

Amazon and Nintendo pissed each other off pretty badly over the 3DS, and now Amazon is refusing to carry Nintendo hardware.

Even assuming the analyst was correct, which Nintendo denies, 7.3 million units is still a pretty high number.

True, but it sounds like it is for all of NA, EU, and Japan. Or was I reading that incorrectly?

That's how I interpreted the numbers as well.

It still seems like a lot to me. Back in April, at their big investors' meeting, Nintendo said that they expected to sell 10 million consoles in the 12 months after the WiiU's launch. And that number included sales of the Wii as well as the WiiU.
