Angry Birds: PSN's Most Downloaded Title

Posted on Monday, April 11 @ 09:48:15 Eastern by

Angry Birds has dominated nearly every market it has been released on. As of last month, it reached over 100 million downloads across a number of platforms such as Android and iOS.

Though, it's not just in the smartphone space where Angry Birds is having success. According to Lazard Capital Market analyst, Colin Sebastian, it's become the most downloaded game on the PlayStation Network since its release in January.

Sebastian says that Angry Birds' success on the PlayStation Network signifies that it's gaining traction it the "casual and social gaming market". He continued:

PSN is also seeing good success with "freemium" and micro-transaction models.

This bodes well for Sony, who is ramping up support for PlayStation Home and has recently introduced Free Realms to the PlayStation Network.
