Animal Crossing: New Leaf Dated, Coming This Spring

Posted on Thursday, February 14 @ 07:06:31 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Those eager for something new to play on their 3DS only have a few more months of waiting to do until they can get their hands on Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which will launch on June 9th in North America.

As mayor of Animal Crossing's cutesy and beautiful world, players will be able to customize not just their home, but their entire town as they see fit. The game has been available in Japan for a few months now and has proven to be quite popular. I'm sure the same will apply to North America as well.

Stay tuned to GameRevolution for more news coming out of today's Nintendo Direct.

Easily my most anticipated 3DS game for the year. You're the freaking Mayor! I love that the series is actually moving forward, finally.

I just wish they'd do away with those weird red triangular noses. They totally creep me out.

At least as far as I remember those were randomly generated on the GameCube, so if you didn't like your nose or eyes you could reroll and get a different face. At least the animals don't all have the triangle nose. :>)

Yeah faces were randomized and I think in one version you may have been able to customize your face? I'm not positive on that though.

I can't wait too. I loved the original and the DS one.

This was a friggin' runaway hit in Japan; the first game to sell 2 million units, even though it was released well after all three 3DS Mario games, DQ Monsters, and Monster Hunter. Yeah. It's truly insane how many people have this game here in Japan.
