Are You Ready For Black Mesa Source?

September 14th. Some people have been anticipating Black Mesa: Source since its been announced... nearly 8 years. Thankfully, you can see what took so long this Friday.

Valve revealed today that Black Mesa: Source will be releasing as part of Steam's Greenlight program. It, along with nine other games will be heading to the digital distributor's store front with more in the pipeline. Black Mesa leads the charge with these other titles:
  • Cry of Fear
  • Dream
  • Heroes & Generals
  • Kenshi
  • McPixel
  • No More Room in Hell
  • Project Zomboid
  • Routine
  • Towns
Yeah, OK, great, whatever. I WANT BLACK MESA: SOURCE RIGHT NOW.

    Awesome! Amazing that steam will take a fan made version of their game not just let it be, but provide the tools and actually let it stand beside their own titles while other companies just send cease and desist letters to everyone.

    Cause those companies are ashamed that people working for free did a better job than their guys that were paid for it.

    As far as I know, it's not the complete Half Life 1 experience yet, but I'm still getting it just the same. They plan on finishing it all off anyways.

    I really hope those voices are placeholders, because the best part of Half-Life was definitely the distorted soldier voices.

    The mod is launching without the Xen chapters. Which is not a bad thing to be honest.
