Armored Core 5's Release Date Announced

Posted on Friday, January 13 @ 14:30:00 Eastern by

Namco Bandai has announced that From Software, the acclaimed developer for Dark Souls, will be bringing their hardcore expertise in its release of Armored Core 5 on March 20, 2012 for North America (March 23, 2012 for Europe).

True to form for the series, Armored Core 5 will feature intense battles and complex customization options, along with team-based multiplayer online battles. Tactical use of the environment and each customizable part remains a core facet of the game's strategic battles. Controlling teammates can now be done through the new Operator Mode, which Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games America, is excited to see:
A quick trigger finger and razor-sharp reflexes won't always turn the tide of battle in ARMORED CORE V. The Operator adds a new layer of strategy orchestrating his team of Armored Cores to victory by finding the enemy's weaknesses.
Pre-ordering Armored Core 5 at GameStop will net players the Heavy Assault Pack which includes advantageous weapons and parts for online multiplayer.

This is one of my favorites series of games ever. Have them all (even the seemingly 30 titles on PS2), and will definitely pick this up, though I don't like the Gamestop exclusive pre-orders...
