After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Assassin's Creed Liberation Coming To Consoles, Pirates Announced For Mobile

Posted on Tuesday, September 10 @ 06:30:23 PST by Alex_Osborn

The once PlayStation Vita-exclusive ain't so exclusive anymore, as Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will be coming to PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The game will be arriving at some point next year as a downloadable title.

The game will be re-branded Assassin's Creed Liberation HD and will boast "a complete graphical overhaul, re-mastered music and sound effects, a revamped gameplay experience, and new missions that dive deeper into Aveline’s story." Ubisoft Sofia, the same studio that crafted the Vita version, will be working on this digital-only title for consoles.

But the AC-centric news doesn't stop there, as Ubi also announced a new mobile title dubbed Assassin's Creed Pirates. This smartphone and tablet-developed game will feature ship battles, treasure hunting, and plenty of customization that will almost certainly strive to nickel-and-dime you for every cent you've got in your digital wallet.

Sadly, there was no news for a new Assassin's Creed game for Sony's handheld. Instead, all Vita owners have to look forward to is the platform's loss of exclusivity to Liberation. For shame.
