Assassin's Creed: Revelations Beta Starts This Week

Posted on Friday, September 2 @ 11:24:00 Eastern by

Much like Brotherhood before it, Assassin's Creed: Revelations will take its cat-and-mouse flavored multiplayer to the people before releasing it worldwide at retail. Ubisoft has announced that the beta will launch this Saturday and run for one week to September 11th.

You'll need a subscription to PlayStation Plus to enjoy the beta, though, "select PS3 Uplay members" will also get invited to play. New characters will available for play, including the Trickster, the Vizier, and the Deacon. Players will get all stabby-stabby in the Knight's Hospital, Antioch, and Constantinople maps. If you're looking for some new ways to play hunt-kill-hide, the beta will give players access to Deathmatch and Artifact Assault game modes, in addition to Wanted and Manhunt.

Deathmatch will consist of a 10 minute free for all where players have a limited area to explore and no compass to guide them to their prey. Artifact Assault, on the other hand, will divide players into two teams with respective territories. Lurking in your own territory means killing invaders while moving into the enemy territory will make you a target for the enemy team. Whichever side carries the most artifacts from the enemy base to their own will win.

Ubisoft has also announced a laundry list of new abilities, perks, streak bonuses and loss bonuses. Head to the official Assassin's Creed website for the full rundown. See you in the beta!

Makes me get a month of PS Plus just to play this beta... I really enjoyed Brotherhoods cat and mouse multiplayer even though I wasn' the greatest at it. I'm hoping Revelations improved on it a lot.

To me it was just a deadly game of leapfrog. The minute you offed somebody, somebody else would off you. Piles of assassins. Piles of them.
