Back to Karkand Looking Pretty in Latest Battlefield 3 Trailer

Posted on Saturday, November 5 @ 14:17:28 Eastern by

If you're getting tired of the massive maps that shipped with Battlefield 3, watch the trailer above and smile, knowing you'll be heading back to some of the best multiplayer maps ever created.

Back to Karkand wraps up a handful of Battlefield 2 maps, beautifies them in a nice coat of Frostbite 2.0, and then let's you and your friends wreck em with new vehicles and weapons. The classic Conquest Rush game mode is included in the map pack as well.

Remember that if you've got a "Limited Edition" (read: first print run) of the game, you'll be able to download these maps for free. Battlefield 3 is available now on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

"The classic Conquest Rush game mode"
thats not even a mode. get that rush bullshit out of here

why do you think these are some of the best multiplayer maps ever created?
the only reason for me is because battlefield 2 held a special place in my heart and they were large scale counter strike maps. also these maps were also considered massive, maybe.... massiver or massivest. :o

    I just got an idea!
With the purchase of the $100 Collector's Edition, get all DLC of the game for free! yay!

    Wait! Better yet!
With the purchase of the simple, ordinary and poor $60 game, get them all for free!

*Wakes up* hey those maps look pretty.

Hardened Edition = a Year's worth of DLC.

    BF3 Limited Edition = 1 map pack.
Was Karkand really huge? I don't remember it being very large.

Karkand was big, but all the fighting took place in around three choke points.

Yeah, this. Karkand could be boiled down to three arenas smaller than any other multiplayer map.

5 conquest points acted like 5 small cod maps put together. thats how mind numbingly awesome these maps were, pushed strategic play with a team to its limits.

Yes, but Hardened Edition MW3 is $100 and the BF 3 Limited Edition was $60.

I still love ME2's buy the game new get free DLC access. It makes more sense than charging people who buy the game used $10 to access multiplayer.

How about some classic 1942 maps other than Wake? El Alamein, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Buldge, Kharkov? I'd pay money for those EA!
