Baldur's Gate Teaser Site Unveiled

Posted on Wednesday, February 29 @ 09:23:28 Eastern by

A teaser site simply named baldursgate.com has appeared with a shield logo with a crimson-eye skull and steel tears dotting its circular frame. To the epic fantasy theme on auto-play, the following quote appearth:

"The Lord of Murder shall perish,
but in his doom he shall spawn a
score of mortal progeny, chaos
will be sown by their passage."

So sayeth the wise Alaundo

Make no mistake. (Apart from the run-on sentence.) It's time for a new Baldur's Gate. I ransacked through its PS2 titles so many times, I've lost count. We need them to show everyone else how the fantasy genre is supposed to be done. With this and Elder Scrolls, I think we're in good hands.

Glad to hear it. I remember the first time I picked up Baldur's Gate for the PC. It was in a bargain bin at Best Buy for less then $10. Epic experience.

Wonder if Bioware is developing the game again. Baldur's Gate II was pretty epic.

From what I've heard, it's being done by a studio who were Bioware developers when they did BG I & II, but left shortly after.
    That's a good thing.

Please make it for consoles bioware. Considering dragon age worked perfectly on consoles I think you could do it.

Oh yes, I think they should make this game just like DA2. That was definitely the pinnacle of RPG games.

DA:O worked perfectly on consoles because you controlled one character at a time and the combat was about as complex as an MMO, ie attack, special ability, cooldown, repeat. It's definitely a fun game but Baldur's Gate is entirely different. You control six characters at once and each class serves an entirely different purpose rather than just killing in different ways. I wouldn't want to see what happens to that system when optimized for a controller.

"I ransacked through its PS2 titles so many times, I've lost count." But those were crap compared to the PC ones! Please let it be a PC game and not another disappointing DA:O Spiritual successor my ass!

I will concur. I just didn't have a good enough rig to play them on PC. :(
