I had planned to write something about the Borderlands series, but that will have to wait. I have something I need to get off my chest first. It's very personal, and I hope the two or three of you who follow my sparse blog will spare me this moment. I joked in my review for the bizarre...

Bastion Now Available to Play in Your Chrome Browser

Posted on Friday, December 9 @ 08:20:03 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Have you wanted to play Bastion on your Mac without using Bootcamp? Thanks to Google's web browser Chrome, you can do just that.

Google recently launched a new "Native Client" tech within its browser-based app marketplace, which allows software developers to create high-end programs to run in a Chrome browser window, much like browser-based Flash games. But better. Supergiant Games was one of the first developers to jump on this new idea, and they brought their much-heralded Action-RPG Bastion to the Chrome Web Store.

If you use Chrome and you have the minimum system requirements, then you can install Bastion directly to Chrome for free. If you like it, then it's only $14.99 to unlock the full game. Plus, since the Chrome Web Store is tied to your Google Account, all of your save data will be saved your own little Google cloud in the interwebz, effectively allowing you to pick up and play Bastion from any other computer that has Chrome.

And yes, if you are a Mac user, you can now play Bastion as well without having to use your Bootcamp partition. I've already tried it, and it runs on my MacBook Pro like a champ. I honestly hope that other developers will look into following Supergiant Games' footsteps, as not enough games on Steam are Mac-friendly, and buying games from the Mac App Store ties it to computers using my Apple ID. Hopefully this will fill the gap.
