Batman Arkham City DLC Priced and Dated

Posted on Monday, October 10 @ 14:03:10 Eastern by

Can you believe that Batman: Arkham City is releasing next week? The shoe-in GOTY nominee is going to keep us busy for a long time -- and will do so even after the main story mode is complete thanks to some upcoming DLC skins and challenge maps.

Batman: Arkham City 'Robin Bundle' DLC is scheduled for a November 22nd release date and priced at $6.99. You can get this for free as long as you pre-order your copy of Arkham City at Best Buy.

Another DLC, entitled 'Skins Pack' is due two weeks later on December 6th for $4.99. Although there's no details as to what skins are included at this time, our guess is that it will include GameStop's Joker skin and possibly more.

Anyone buying the game new will get free DLC, which is essentially Arkham City's "Online Pass". But since there isn't online multiplayer  for B:AC, the Catwoman Challenge Maps DLC will be free in new copies of the game.

I still kinda wonder how the pre-order skins and the later DLC offerings will be worked into the PC version that is coming a month later and the copy I will be buying.

Probably all bundled together. I doubt they'd do this all over again with the PC copy. That kind of stuff isn't very popular with that crowd.

It would be nice to have it bundled all together but you never know. I am just glad there taking the extra month for Dev time instead of rushing it out the door buggy as sin and saying. WAIT FOR PATCH... *cough dead island... RAGE... every other PC port usually... and then sometimes the patch never comes. :)

Buy new get get free DLC, acts as a reward DRM and an anti-used game sale incentive. Smart.

I like the "pre-order and get free DLC" thingy as well, though getting one-use codes for DLC (and maybe Online Pass) with a game even if you buy it months afterwards could also be a solution for the used game market.

I'm getting disillusioned with games. There are several "exclusive" DLC content. gamestop gives you "the joker's carnival challenge", best buy gets you "robin's package", depends on where you buy it, you get a "different" experience. They need to make money, i get that... but they should make a "complete" edition or some other bs marketting name that gives me all the DLC in one effing package.

It's called a GOTY (game of the year) edition.

Too bad Best Buy is sold out already, I would have liked that Robin DLC. With my new computer, I'm thinking of getting it for the PC, hope we don't have to pay extra I agree with whoisme, just because we buy the game NEW 2 days after launch, doesn't mean we should be penalized.

Put the whole damn game togetherGOTY edition will come out months later$60 isn't enough for a game?
