Battlefield 3 Beta Stats in the Billions

Posted on Tuesday, October 18 @ 11:34:48 Eastern by
EA and DICE have rounded up the stats for the massive Battlefield 3 beta they ran earlier this month. With over 8 million people playing in the beta, there was an incredible amount of killing, stabbing, and destroying MCOM stations.

I hope you realize what these numbers represent. People love demos, they love free stuff, and apparently one map won't deter people from playing hours and hours of gameplay.

The biggest problem with BF3 is...well, players leaving mid-game and no one ever joining.
That 4 vs 4 was the most boring thing I've ever played.

2.2 Billion you say? Didn't play with any of those assault players. Besides Danny and Bret.

I'll add you when I get a chance. Being the only medic doing jackshit and always getting killed is annoying.
Actually, being the only guy who ISN'T diving head first into gunfire is annoying.

I know how you feel! I can never get my squad to spawn on me when I'm hiding under the radar near a mcomm station. I need backup when I plant that sucker!! I often get stuck with the snipers in my squad, ughh.

47 billion shots? I wonder how much money would that be if those were real bullets.

$18,753,000,000 at $399 a case (1000 rounds) of NATO 5.56 - one of the more commonly used rounds by the military. However, clearly not the only ammunition they use. This estimate is from a wholesaler (therefore likely lower grade than the military uses) and the cheapest I could find.
