Battlefield 3 PC Recommended and Required Specs Leaked By Gamestop [UPDATED]

Posted on Friday, July 8 @ 09:03:11 Eastern by

So you're walking along and you're minding your own business when BAM! Gamestop is like "Stop what you're doing!" You sit bolt upright and say "OK!" Gamestop is like "ha! Got you! Preorder some sh**!"

"Dammit Gamestop get out of here! I'm tired of your shenanigans!"

"OK OK, let's make peace! Preorder Battlefield 3 and I'll tell you the required and recommended PC specs for DICE and EA's big Fall shooter!"

"... ALRIGHT! Here's my $5! Can I get that preorder poster?"

"Sorry, we're all out! We'll have more when you pick up your game! The required specs for Battlefield 3 are

Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Operating System: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card

"The recommended specs for Battlefield 3 are

Hard Drive Space: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
"

So then you're just like "Oh, thanks." *cancels preorder, walks away*

[UPDATE] The above specs may possibly be fake. Remember, just because the biggest gaming retailer in the world posted them on the product page, it doesn't mean they're real. DICE developer Johan Andersson said on a forum that the specs were not accurate. Who knows what to believe.

Well I should be able to run it with those specs on my current rig. My gpu's are getting to be a bit out of date now. Even more of a reason why I need to get a desktop.

One thing that confuses me though: why does the digital download require less HDD space than the disc version? How is that even possible?

Yeah I'm hoping the specs are close to this because it'll amount to a pretty preferable desktop build.

I just look at my computer and realize it still struggles to play the first call of duty. Not call of duty modern warfare but CALL OF DUTY.

I haven't played a game on my PC since Red Alert 2 came out. Still fire that up every now and then so I can make my ******* pucker by hearing "BLIMP Ready" from an undiscovered location.
