Posted on Wednesday, September 21 @ 12:05:10 Eastern by

Battlefield 3's beta is right around the corner, but your arm-chair soldiers might still be wondering which platform you'll be playing the game on. DICE has already spoken at length about the PC's lead in development, but that the PS3 will follow closely behind. Still, the fact remains that the ultimate Battlefield 3 experience will be in its 64 player multiplayer maps.

The public beta will put this decision to rest and if you're hoping to try the game out on your PC, here are the stats you need to know:

Keyboard and Mouse
DVD-ROM Drive

Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core CPU

Woo! I've got the recommended requirements, except a GTX470. I don't think I could play it maxed out anyways. I'd be too distracted by the detail of the levels.

I will be getting it on PS3 launch day and will pick it up on PC when I find it on sale. I am by no means a PC noob but system specs sometimes confuse me. I can run Starcraft on ultra settings and average 55FPS, am I going to have any issues?

I don't have a quad core CPU, but my high end i5 and 5870 should run this just fine in DX11.

Sometimes I think having a 6 core processor and 16 gig of RAM is silly, but then I realize I could probably play two instances of BF3 at once and it tickles me in my special place.
