Battlefield 3 Tournament Offers Up $1.6 MILLION

Posted on Tuesday, September 27 @ 15:40:30 Eastern by

Never mind the fact that you could be having a lot of fun playing Battlefield 3 with your friends, racking up kills, driving tanks and flying jets. If you really want to have fun, you need cash... mountains of it. I'm talking Scrooge McDuck moolah.

What if the two of those can go hand in hand? EA and Virgin Gaming have announced the biggest Battlefield 3 tournament yet with a prize pool of $1.6 million. The Battlefield 3 Worldwide Conquest Tournament will begin in early 2012 and end with a live finale. DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson explains:

The Battlefield series has always been a very social experience with its best-in-class multiplayer gameplay and we're honored to have such passionate and loyal fans. We want to give them the best Battlefield experience we've ever created with Battlefield 3. The Worldwide Conquest Tournament with Virgin Gaming is a great way to celebrate the gameplay and reward our fans.
