Battlefield 4 Beta Officially Revealed

Posted on Tuesday, July 17 @ 14:23:41 Eastern by

After a leaked image revealing the existence of Battlefield 4, Electronic Arts has officially anounced the exclusive beta for the title for those who pre-order Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition, which launches October 26 this year. Above is a trailer of the title's multiplayer mode... nothing like leveraging Battlefield 4, right?

The Battlefield 4 beta will be made available for Fall 2013, with further details being officially revealed at a later date. For their sake, let's hope that there aren't any leaked documents about it.

Im crossing my fingers they will use nvidia physx for Dynamic, non-prefactured destruction in real time like they showed on the 480s.

Youtube search Dynamic, non-prefactured destruction in real time

Now it's obvious they're milking it...it wouldn't be so bad if it was Bad Company 3, I suppose. What can they really add at this point to make people stop playing BF3?

    @ THEJX4: ARE YOU SERIOUS?

HOW ARE THEY MILKING BATTLEFIELD? ENLIGHTEN ME...
CAUSE LAST TIME I CHECKED BF3 CAME OUT OCT 2011' AND THIS POST SAYS BF4 BETA DOESN'T COME OUT TILL FALL 2013 WHICH MOST LIKELY WOULD BE AROUND OCT MAKING IT 2 YEARS FROM BF3 RELEASE TO BF4 BETA, AND THIS MOST LIKELY MEANS BF4 WOULDN'T RELEASE TILL SOME TIME 2014...
SO THEIR WILL BE OVER 2 YEARS BETWEEN RELEASES! THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE MILKING AT ALL!

AND AS FAR AS SUPERIOR GAME PLAY GOES, YOU CAN COMPARE MILITARY SHOOTERS TO EACH OTHER, AND NEARLY ALL CRITICS & MOST FANS AGREE BATTLEFIELD OFFERS MUCH BETTER MP GAME PLAY THAN COD & OTHER MILITARY SHOOTERS!

SEE THE REASON MANY LIKE MYSELF PREFER BF OVER ALL OTHER MILITARY SHOOTERS IS BF IS THE ONLY GAME THAT TRULY BRINGS WARE FARE TO LIFE!!! ITS THE ONLY GAME THAT CAN CAPTURE THE EXCITING AND RANDOM MOMENTS SEEN IN WAR FILMS!!!

Terrible logic, considering BF3's beta took place right before launch. So I wouldn't be surprised if the same goes for BF4. 2 years, for a game some people have spent $120+ on? It's equally odd when BF3's last DLC doesn't release until next year.

It doesn't have to release every year to be considered "milking". By that mindset, Call of Duty isn't milked because Modern Warfare & WaW/Black Ops are separate entities. By releasing a follow-up so quickly after the game launches, there's an expiration date for it now. I guarantee you people will flock from BF3 to BF4, even if BF3 is the better game. Simply because it's Battlefield 4. A lot of people who play nothing but Battlefield/MoH don't like to admit it, but they follow the same mentality as the rabid CoD fanboys.

you say people like me flock to each new entry regardless of quality?! wrong!

see, when i switch to a new version of a game its either cause: its better, current version is outdated, theirs enough new features to warrant a sequel, or ive simply played more than enough hrs on current game & id like something new & fresh...
(if i dont like a new entry of a shooter i stop playing it ex: GOW3)
BUT THEIRS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRYING A NEW GAME!

its funny your so quick to jump to conclusions and bunch me with retarded cod fanboys! see, im a shooter fan: HALO, FAR CRY, BATTLEFIELD, AVP, & GEARS are some shooters i play... my gaming doesnt revolve around just military fps! i actually prefer sci fi shooters!

AND AS FAR AS YOUR LOGIC CONCERNING DLC... IT JUST DOESN'T WORK, SEE MOST DLC ISN'T EVEN PURCHASED BY 1/2 OF A GAMES FAN BASE! AND THOSE THAT BUY IT DON'T NECESSARILY BUY ALL OF IT! SO OVER 1/2 OF BF3 PLAYERS WILL NOT BE GETTING DLC NEXT YEAR SO IT IS OVER A 2 YEAR WAIT FOR NEW CONTENT!
and remember, not all fans of shooter only play MP! lots of people love co-op & single player, and those are 2 areas battlefield could drastically improve with ease... i haven't heard of any co-op or single player dlc have you? more content in these categories alone warrants a sequel... which like i said after 2 years is clearly not milking...
    HELL, I LOVE BF3 & I DON'T HAVE THE DLC EITHER!
AND WHATS STRANGE ABOUT A BETA COMING OUT MONTHS AFTER DLC?
and as far as quality & new feature are concerned, just compare BFBC2 TO BF3: they improved so much, added tons of features and customization, plus they drastically improved physics & graphics so why should i expect anything less from the sequel?

seriously, they criticize COD for it's twitch gameplay and yearly releases. So what they do is then release DLC for 8 on 8 small map twitch gameplay, and.... work towards a yearly release, they haven't even finished half the planned DLC

this series is dead, it had an original and fun feel to it, perhaps not as financially successful as COD, but I felt it was superior in gameplay, and now they're going to bury themselves trying to copy COD

I disagree with the whole "superior in gaemplay" thing. Because I feel that could only be said if Battlefield was trying to do what Call of Duty does, but better.

About the CQ DLC, I was interested in that, just because of how much I like Operation Metro. I'm not one for giant battlefields....

like i said above, its going to be 2 years just from BF3 -BF4 BETA... that's not yearly, and i don't believe they're trying to make it yearly! and as far as your concern of them working on it before all dlc is out... NEWSFLASH... most successful game put the sequel into development within months of the current games release... just because some companies haven't announced their game doesn't mean they're not working on it...
do you and anyone else really think game companies sit and wait years before working on their next entry?

on to the 8 vs 8 dlc, its not what i play bf for but i hear its fun, and whats wrong with reaching out and providing different game types and experiences? not everyone likes the same game types or maps so all it is is depth and how does that mean they're working on being like cod? its 4 out of 20 dlc maps 1/4th of the dlc, that isn't much then if you add the BF3 maps its even less, so, they're obviously not abandoning their style of game play.

the series is far from dead, and 4 dlc maps don't change the game! if you don't like them, don't buy them... and don't play them...

Well if the beta comes out late 2013 we can always hope its just an early beta and the game wont release until mid 2014?

I'll wait till MoH is $20, just like the original reboot.

I don't see how, probably, 2.5 years between releases makes it an annual thing. I just hope they fix all the stuff that is wrong in BF3 and try to be a different game than CoD instead of a direct competitor. They really need to play up the class roles and the vehicles more. Honestly, who would play BF if it weren't for the vehicles? I have high hopes for BF4.

I'd play it if it was sci-fi, it allows for a lot more creativity. I'm so tired of military shooters at this point...
