Bethesda Unveils Dragonborn DLC For Skyrim, Trailer Inside

Posted on Monday, November 5 @ 08:11:34 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

As was rumored a few weeks back, the next major add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will come in the form of a DLC pack dubbed Dragonborn. Now before all of you deprived PlayStation 3 gamers get your hopes up, I'm sorry but Bethesda currently only has plans to release the add-on for the Xbox 360. Honestly, if they couldn't figure out how to bring vampires to the PS3, do you really think they'll crack mountable dragons?

That's right! As previously speculated, Dragonborn will feature dragon mounts—which, let me just say, is totally awesome and long overdueThe add-on will also bring a new character into the fold who just so happens to be Dragonborn as well. Did you really think you were the only special one?

The DLC pack will be available via Xbox Live on December 4th for 1600 Microsoft Points.

I'm guessing since it'll be on pc a month, or two after it's on xbox. For the time being I think they have a dragon riding mod already to hold you over until then.

There are plenty of other good games out there I can buy that don't prefer XBox and shaft their PS3 gaming community. Bethesda lost one customer here at least. Their crap is just totally bogus and I've been dealing with it long enough, and I won't miss these games that limit core audiences for an extra buck.

I've heard many times before that PS3 is actually a lot harder to develop for than Xbox 360 and PC, and with a company that hardly ever touches the PS3, I can see why they have problems getting Skyrim to work correctly on the system. Hell, I heard Oblivion wasn't even ported to PS3 by Bethesda, someone else did it.

Bethesda has also said they're having difficulty fixing up the PS3 version, and difficulty also with getting addon content to work.

...and yet other companies, many of them not having Bethesda's success, have no problem seamlessly making PS3 versions of games.

If I recall correctly, Sony started this "lets screw over the other console by having stuff on ours exclusively!" with stuff like the Joker pack for Arkham Asylum and putting Kratos in Mortal Kombat etc etc. Xbox just responded and beat the **** out of them at their own game =) At least this stuff eventually gets released on everything else, whereas AC3 is still have exclusive PS3 DLC. I think Amazing Spiderman did too, but who cares about that hah.

Actually, the AC3 content for PS3 isn't a DLC, it's just four missions you don't get in other versions. Something to do with Benedict Arnold, though I haven't done them yet, so I can't say if they were worth getting the PS3 version. I picked PS3 over 360 for this one because of the slim chance I might buy a Vita and the additional content that would be available if I picked up Liberation.

Looks freaking epic. Morrowind and Solstheim, plus i think those were Rieklings on tusked brislebacks, even more awesome. Oh and the Dragonmounts. Can't wait for this.

This may be the first piece of Skyrim DLC that I buy. Every single thing about that trailer looked awesome.
