Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain Composer Passes Away At 56

Posted on Monday, January 28 @ 10:00:04 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Normand Corbeil, the Canadian composer behind the Heavy Rain soundtrack, has passed away at 56 years of age after battling with pancreatic cancer.

His son, Laurent Corbeil, told Polygon, "My father passed away on Friday after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Normand was a great composer and an amazing father. We urge anyone who's been touched by his music to donate to pancreatic cancer research. The survival rate for this horrible disease is still far too low."

Corbeil also composed the soundtrack of Quantic Dream's upcoming title Beyond: Two Souls, which is set to release later this year.

I was lucky enough to have a roommate with a ps3 when heavy rain came out. To this day I think about trying to emulate one to replay it.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the very aggressive cancers. By the time the most obvious warning signs show it is usually already inoperable.

What a sad moment in gaming. I have Corball's Heavy Rain soundtrack... I will be listening through it today in memory.

6 months with diagnosed pancreatic cancer is a pretty good fight. Co-worker's dad is fighting it right now and it does not play.

Never played the game, but sucks for his family.
