BioShock Infinite Will Not Have Multiplayer

Posted on Monday, November 26 @ 07:11:06 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Rumors started circulating the web a few months ago that Ken Levine and his team at Irrational Games were adding multiplayer to their upcoming title, BioShock Infinite.

With the game being delayed to 2013, there was reason to believe that some major changes or additions were being made, but it looks like they won't be coming in the form of multiplayer, as Levine has confirmed via Twitter that there will be "no multi" in Infinite

This will likely come to many of you as a major relief, as extra work in this capacity could ultimately hinder or weaken the main campaign. And let's face it, BioShock 2 pretty much proved that the series is better off without it.

Good, tired of reiterating multiplayer shooters. I play BF3 for multiplayer im not really interested in any other multiplayer. Even FarCry3 multiplayer feels derivative according to reviews. Focus on your strengths devs, Creating a awesome campaign and setting.

Some games are made to be multiplayer games (see Halo, COD, etc). These often have a tacked on single-player story no one cares about.
Other games are made to be single-player experiences, and the reason most people will buy the game. Multiplayer can certainly detract from these games by shunting resources away from the single player (see Spec Ops: The Line)

I applaud them for making what they want to, and not caving into the ridiculous idea that all games need multiplayer these days.

BioShock 2's multiplayer was absolutely horrendous. This can only be a good thing.

Good, i would rather have no multiplayer than have a mutliplayer shoehorned into the game just to have it. Not every game needs multiplayer.

This is a good news. Despite what certain persons over at EA may think, not every game has to have multiplayer. If the single player experience is rich and rewarding, that's enough for me.
