GAMING NEWSBioWare Correcting 4th Mass Effect NovelPosted on Monday, February 6 @ 12:05:15 Eastern by Keri_Honea
![]() As you may recall from last week, the latest Mass Effect novel, Mass Effect: Deception, really upset a large number of Mass Effect fans with its inconsistencies with Mass Effect lore. So much so, fans created a Google Doc listing all of the errors found thus far. The fans' outrage did not fall on deaf ears. BioWare has acknowledged these errors and promises to correct them in a future edition of the book. From their forums, they said: It's so nice when a legitimate complaint from fans goes noticed and acknowledged by the developer. My questions is, however, what about the edition I already have purchased? Can I trade it in for the corrected edition? [Source] More from the Game Revolution Network Comments

Most game novels aren't just a direct novelization of the games in question either (most, not all). The Halo novels (with the exception of The Flood) tell original stories separate from from the ones the game tells, and even The Flood, which novelizes the first Halo game, adds a secondary story that was never touched on in the game. The Warcraft novels are all decent as well, telling the stories of some major characters, some minor characters, and give the reader a better understanding about how the Warcraft story as a whole pans out.
They're not all just a bunch of cheap cash-grabs, like games made based on the latest blockbuster film. They actually put some work into the books.
